FARO offers 3D digitizing technology for the efficient transfer of real environments and objectives into the virtual world as well as photorealistic imaging in interactive real-time applications.

Capture real world environments

FARO’s powerful 3D scanning technology makes it possible to capture large scenes, landscapes and cultural monuments as well as small objects, artifacts and products precisely and efficiently. All scan data and all details are available digitally in a very short time.

Model and modify the scene

Once all scan data has been captured, it can be further processed for virtual or photorealistic scenes, depending on the application. While the triangulation of 3D point clouds to detailed polygon models is in the foreground for film productions, processing using retropology is used for real-time graphics.

Film and game creation

Use final textured surfaces of the scans for impressive visualizations, e.g. in movie production (offline rendering). Or produce interactive virtual reality applications and computer games by real-time rendering of the modified source data.

The SCAN2FX plug-in apps for SCENE provide additional functionalities for mesh generation, texture adding, or data export into Maya and Mari.
